How To Choose The Perfect Web Host For Your Site?

By Malvi Patel

The first and foremost thing before you think of adapting the cloud hosting services is the size of your business. If you are a start up or a small or medium business, double check yourself whether you can allocate the resources of human, technology and time for study, research and maintenance. Okay, now that you want to go with the cloud services for your business. Now, it is the time to focus very important parameters of hosting requirements to choose the right one.

CLOUDS AND KINDS: The two kinds of cloud hosting are private and public cloud hosting. Private is the choice for the business which needs very high levels of security for the data and can't take risks of sharing the resources. In all the other cases public can be suggested choice, which in turn saves money.

CLOUD MODELS: You have three choices of models called IaaS, SaaS, PaaS according to your requirements. Choose the most appropriate and suitable one based on which resources you have and which resources to rely on the cloud hosting.

IaaS, Infrastructure-as-a-Service: This service provides the basic computing resources. However, the customer has to take care of the software like operating system and applications almost independently.

SaaS, is the Software-as-a-Service: Here the service provided is the software in terms of basic computing resources. And the other responsibilities should be taken care by the customer. Matured and huge businesses like infra and platform but has more demanding advanced software applications for the timely changing tasks would basically need these services.

Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), is a service using which the customer would build and deploy the applications required for the business. However the downside here is that it would be difficult to change the provider at the later stages as it is run by the proprietary applications called APIs.

RELIABILITY: The customer needs to check whether the firm equipped with the advanced technical infrastructure along with the expert teams to maintain it successfully and provide timely and reliable services.

SECURITY LEVELS: There is higher level security as well as higher level of security risks resulted by cloud hosting. Clear analysis of the security levels from identity management, access control and authorization & authentication is mandatory before applying for the business.

SCALABILITY: The customer generally tempts to host on clouds because of the scalability provided by it. Clear understanding of what level of flexibility is needed without effecting other important parameters like security and money spent is undeniable fact.

Best wishes to fly on to the clouds with good analysis and understanding of all the above parameters suggested.
