A Few Types Of Web Hosting Services

By Marcus Ryan

Buying a hosting service is important, because you have to know what you are doing. There many plans and services to choose from. Hosting allows your website to be published on the internet thanks to files being stored on a server. You must know exactly what type of hosting service you need for your website. It all depends on what type of website you have.

The most common hosting service is free web hosting, which does not need a monthly or yearly cost. But that means that the same servers have an infinite number of sites hosted free in the same place. Although the hosting is free you might need to place advertisements on your site in exchange for the service. Therefore expect the site hosted for free to be plagued by advertising that will remove visibility. Another type of web hosting is the hosting of images.

Image hosting is another example, these type is only for the purpose of storing different formats of images. The images are stored in a server that can accessed anytime. Saving space by not having to store them in the computer. This works like an archive with unlimited space that can be used anytime. Many people also use it to store files and documents.

Another very popular type of hosting is the common shared. It simply means a server will hold multiple sites at the same time. This could mean sharing space on a server with thousands of other website owners. But shared hosting also means it is a lot cheaper to purchase. The only problem is that sometimes you are limited on capacity and size.

Dedicated hosting service is another very popular service for website. Although much more expensive you have the ability to use unlimited storage disk space for your site. You also can use applications without risking your site's speed or performance. Usually dedicated hosting is used for websites with lots of traffic or complex uses like online stores. Since you are sharing servers you can take as much space as you need to modify your site.
